eForce Compliance Diverts 550,000 Pounds of eWaste From Tri-State Landfills During Earth Day Celebration
The numbers are in and they are impressive. eForce Compliance diverted in excess of 550,000 pounds of electronic waste from Tri-State landfills during their celebration of Earth Day 2014.
eForce Compliance hosted a series of free electronic recycling collection events during the month of April. Businesses in the Tri-State area were given the opportunity to responsibly dispose of obsolete items including computers, televisions and other devices, which in the past, would have been slated for local landfills. A substantial amount of the waste collected during this initiative was in the form of CRT glass containing high concentrations of lead, phosphors, and other toxic materials. In addition to promoting a cleaner environment,
eForce maintains that recycling creates a heightened awareness of the potential hazards inherent in improper waste disposal. In addition, all data media including hard drives and tapes were safely destroyed in accordance with its R2 and e-Stewards certifications.
